📰 Posts & the Feed
Stories, photos, comments, likes, hashtags, and who sees what.
Your feed
The Feed shows posts from you, your
friends, members you follow, and the groups you belong to —
newest first, no algorithm deciding for you.
Posting
- Write a story, attach photos, or both. Photos go through the normal
upload pipeline (metadata stripped,
converted to WebP).
- Posts are visible to signed-in members.
- Been away? The feed tells you how many stories
arrived since you last opened it, and while you read, a
↑ New stories button appears the moment someone
you follow posts — press it when you're ready.
- Who sees it: every signed-in member, unless you
switch the composer's 🌐 Everyone button to
👥 Friends only before posting. A friends-only story
shows on your wall and in your friends' feeds only, carries a small
👥 Friends chip, and never appears in site search. Group posts are
always for the whole group.
- Made a typo? Open the ⋯ menu on your own post and
choose Edit post — for 15 minutes after posting. The
story then carries a small edited note. Photos and a poll's
options stay as they were; a longer change is a new post.
- Deleting a post is permanent and removes its
photos on the spot.
- New here? For its first day an account can post,
comment, message and send friend requests a generous but limited
number of times (30, 60, 40 and 20 a day). The caps lift on their
own after 24 hours; they exist so a spam account gets nowhere.
Any member can comment on or like a post. You can delete comments on
your own posts, and your own comments anywhere — and fix your own
comment with Edit for 15 minutes after writing it.
- Write #anything in a post and it becomes a link to
that tag's page.
- The most-used tags of recent days show as
trending topics — click one to see the
conversation.
Following vs. friending
Friendship is mutual — both sides agree.
Following is one-way, Twitter-style: follow anyone and
their posts join your feed. Blocking someone severs both, in both
