π¬ Messages, Bulletins & Pen Pals
Private messages, friend broadcasts, and slow-post letters.
Private messages
- Message any member from their profile, or press οΌ New
on the Messages page and pick a friend. Conversations are visible
only to the two of you and are
never searchable β not even by moderators browsing
the site.
- A sender can delete their own message, which removes it for both
sides.
- The community rules apply in private too β and blocking someone
stops their messages entirely.
Bulletins
A bulletin is the old MySpace broadcast: one
note posted to all your friends at once β moving day,
a gig announcement, "I'm back online." Bulletins show only to you and
your friends.
Pen pals
- The Pen Pals corner is for
letters, not chat: a letter takes about
12 hours to arrive. Anticipation is the point.
- Raise your flag in the directory (with a short intro) to receive
first letters; once a correspondence exists, replies flow freely.
- Changed your mind? You can recall a letter any
time before it arrives.
- Letters are as private as messages: only the two correspondents,
never searchable.
